Family Sunday

Family Sundays:
Each 5th Sunday of a month this year

PreK through 5th graders will join their families in the main church service each time there is a 5th Sunday in a month. The 5th Sundays we have for 2026 are:
 March 29th, May 31st, Aug. 30th, and Nov. 29th.
These dates fall next to holidays as well. Kids activity pages will be set out each Family Sunday.

**There WILL still be nursery and toddler room classes all Sundays.

The purpose behind Family Sundays is twofold:
1- We believe it is valuable for children to learn what the main Sunday service at church looks like, feels like, and sounds like. They are part of our church body too. It is also valuable for the kids to see and experience their family members and other adults participating in the main worship service. This is a big part in how they learn, even when it doesn't seem like they are.

2- We also value our Sunday School teachers. They teach and care and oversee our kids week in and week out. This allows them a built in time to rest and simply attend church or visit family. Our nursery and toddler room teachers are on rotations already, so that is built into their service schedules, while our older room teachers mostly teach every week. This builds in a healthy rhythm for those who serve in this way.

As a church staff, we understand these Sundays won't look or sound "perfect" (as if that existed :). We think the purpose behind these Sundays far exceeds the "messy" that will come with them. As Jesus said in Matt. 19:14 "let the little children come to me, and so not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these".
